Six women have been arrested
by police after the death of a young boy at a nursery in the West Midlands. The one-year-old died at a nursery in Bourne Street, Dudley, on December 9, 2022.
Police have confirmed his death is being treated as suspicious and six women have been arrested. Birmingham Live reports that West Midlands Police have arrested three women - aged 20, 23 and 50 - on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter, with the trio arrested on December 16, 2022. Three more women - aged 51, 53 and 57 - have also since been arrested, with one arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter and two arrested on suspicion of corporate manslaughter. Police launched a criminal investigation after an inspection by Ofsted, which occurred after the boy's death.

A post-mortem has taken place with further tests set to be carried out to establish the tot's exact cause of death.
