Some European countries are in danger of 'coercing the Ukrainians to a bad peace', Mr Johnson said

The Prime Minister arrives in Bavaria for the G7 summit on Sunday morning, before travelling on to Madrid for the first full meeting of Nato member states since the invasion of Ukraine.

Mr Johnson told Sky News on Saturday: “Too many countries are looking at this thing now and saying, ‘This is a European war that is unnecessary. It’s an economic problem that we don’t need.’ And so the pressure will grow, to try to encourage, coerce, maybe the Ukrainians to a bad peace.” He added: “Now is not the time to give up on Ukraine.”

Britain will push for a firm date to be given for Russian gas exports to Europe to end, and for a “plan B” to allow Ukrainian wheat to be transported via the Black Sea without the permission of Moscow.
