Search teams have been looking for Mr Robertson for over a week The body of a 77-year-old man who was swept into the River Tay after horrific flooding in Scotland has been found. Police said the discovery was made at about 12.25pm near Haugh Island, Logierait in Tayside, nearly a week after he fell into the water. Struan Robertson was trying to clear a hydropower device in Perthshire when he lost his footing.
Speaking outside the family home on Tuesday, Mr Robertson said: ‘He was trying to clear a hydro intake from the Tay. It powers the electricity but it gets clogged up when the water is so high. ‘He lost his footing and was swept into the river. The current dragged him away. ‘I was in Perth at the time. My mother was with him when it happened.
