Yeti Airlines plane with 72 people on board crashes in Nepal
KATHMANDU - An aircraft carrying 72 people crashed in Pokhara in western Nepal on Sunday, an airport official said, while state television reported some bodies had been recovered.
“There are 68 passengers on board and four crew members... Rescue is underway, we don’t know right now if there are survivors,” Sudarshan Bartaula told AFP. The ATR 72 aircraft was flying to Pokhara from Kathmandu when it crashed in the Pokhara city of Kaski district on Sunday morning. Images and videos posted on social media platforms showed plumes of smoke billowing from the crash site.
