Firefighters are said to be at the scene, battling the lineside fire, with ScotRail warning commuters that their trains may be delayed or revised until the fire has been extinguished.
ScotRail passengers are facing disruption to travel this afternoon, Saturday April 27, following a fire near a railway line in between Dumbarton East and Bowling train station.
Initially, the blaze was 'thought to be in control'. However, the line is now closed in both directions for 'safety reasons'.READ MORE: Emergency services 'search for body' in River Clyde near George V BridgeA spokesperson for ScotRail wrote on X: "Due to a fire near to the railway in between Dumbarton East and Bowling, services may be delayed or revised until the fire has been extinguished.
"The line in both directions is closed for safety reasons due to a lineside fire which was previously thought to be under control. We have requested replacement transport and will keep you updated."
