From Broadway to Blackburn: Christmas Lights Switch On Spectacular promises to wow locals this year
Blackburn BID, supported by Blackburn with Darwen Council, has announced its programme for the popular annual event, which includes a show-stopping, foot-tapping musical extravaganza - and it promises to wow visitors.
The stars of this year’s Aladdin pantomime will also be performing live on stage, as will the Blackburn Festival of Light Street Band. What's more, Pop Up Global will be delivering a fantastic all-singing, all-dancing festive finale starting just after 6pm. “The event will mark the start of the festive season in Blackburn town centre and will showcase not only our amazing, talented young performers but also our brilliant town centre businesses.
“We’ve seen huge crowds in recent years at the Blackburn Christmas lights switch-on and we want to fill the town centre once again with this fantastic line-up. Zaffer Khan, chief executive officer of One Voice Blackburn said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be involved in the amazing Christmas light switch-on. It is an iconic event in the Blackburn calendar and as a charity that supports the town and its young people, it is apt that our West End Girls get this unique opportunity to host.
