A Blackburn Rovers fan had to turn to the club for help when Bet365 refused to pay out more than £1,700 when a yellow card was recorded against the wrong player.
In Manchester United's heavy defeat to Newcastle, both Sergio Reguilon and Joelinton were booked as Sam had hoped. In the second match, involving Rovers and Chelsea, Sam had identified Jake Garrett and Harry Pickering as the ones to pick up yellow cards.With 10 minutes left of the match, Pickering had been booked and a foul by Garrett earned him a yellow card as well.
In a reply seen by LancsLive, the betting company said: "We completely get where the frustration regarding this settlement has come from however we confirm that we do settle these bets with data provided to us by Opta. Sam refused to let the matter lie though and turned to the club for help, asking it to verify what had happened. He then received a letter from club secretary Ian Silvester who explained that although it had been reported in the media that Sigurdsson was the player booked, the FA notification stated it was in fact Garrett.It proved to be more than that as, after Sam posted the letter on social media, he finally received his pay out.
