The Bills-Bengals game from last Monday has officially been canceled, per to the NFL. A neutral-site AFC Championship game could be possible. If Ravens beat the Bengals on Sunday, their potential Wild Card game location will be determined by a coin toss.
During the 2020 season several games were rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The league also postponed every Week 2 NFL game following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in 2001. Those games were replayed following on what would have been that season’s Wild Card round and the playoffs were pushed back a week.
It would require postponing the start of the playoffs for one week, thereby affecting all 14 clubs that qualify for postseason play. The AFC Championship Game will be played at a neutral site if the participating teams played an unequal number of games and both could have been the number one seed and hosted the game had all AFC clubs played a full 17-game regular season. Those circumstances involve Buffalo or Cincinnati qualifying for the game as a road team and are listed below:
Scenario 2: Buffalo and Kansas City both lose and Baltimore wins or ties – a Buffalo vs Kansas City championship game would be at a neutral site.
