Police order put in place in all of Leeds - and you could get fined
The order states that vehicles will be in breach of the new Public Space Protection Order if "two or more mechanically propelled vehicles collecting on the public highway or a publicly accessible place and those people associated with the collecting vehicles act in an anti-social way." The order has been put in place by West Yorkshire Police in conjunction with Leeds City Council.
Anyone breaching the order could be fined £100, or convicted of a criminal offence with a maximum level three fine.Police list anti-social behaviour for the purposes of the order as including: West Yorkshire Police added that extra officers will be deployed to areas of Leeds where car meets take place.
A spokesperson said: "We know not everyone who attends meets act in this way, however, the select few have spoilt it for the rest."
