The White House press office said in a scheduling update that Biden would give “remarks on the United States’ response to recent aerial objects.” Critics have questioned whether Biden ordered the spate of missions because he was stung by criticism of his decision to allow a Chinese spy balloon to hover over sensitive US facilities from Alaska to South Carolina before Biden ordered US jets to shoot down an unidentified object on Friday off Alaska’s Arctic coastline and again on Saturday over Canada’s Yukon territory and on Sunday over Lake Huron.
