Biden says Covid shots for kids and boosters for adults will 'accelerate' path out of pandemic

Public health officials and health experts have said vaccinating younger age groups and giving extra doses to at-risk groups, such as the elderly, could help the U.S. move toward Covid's so-called "endemic" phase, where the virus is still circulating but at lower levels than it is now. U.S. regulators have already authorized booster shots for tens of millions of adults who received either the Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Nearly 20 million Americans have received an additional dose as of Tuesday, according to data compiled by the CDC.
