President Biden on Saturday offered his condolences to the Mississippi residents reeling from the deadly tornado and severe storms that killed at least 23 people and leveled multiple rural communities.
Mr. Biden pledged that his administration will “do everything we can to help” the communities that have been brought to their knees by the destruction.
The president said he reached out to Mississippi’s Republican Gov. Tate Reeves and has been in contact with the state’s Congressional delegation to offer the full support of the federal government to assist in recovery efforts. “We will be there as long as it takes,” he said. “We will work together to deliver the support you need to recover.”
