Bey was among the hundreds of artists who spoke out following Floyd’s death, which was captured on video and shared around the globe.with the simple but powerful caption:"Rest in Power George Floyd."
In a separate message, she wrote:"We all witnessed his murder in broad daylight. We're broken and we're disgusted. We cannot normalize this behavior," she said."No more senseless killings of human beings, no more seeing people of color as less than human. We can no longer look away." The Minneapolis police officer who pinned Floyd to the ground with a knee to the neck, resulting in his death, is now facing second degree murder charges. The other officers involved in the killing are charged with aiding and abetting murder.
