Rydal Cave was recently rated as one of the best places to visit in the UK by Time Out
Rydal, a charming village nestled in Cumbria 's Lake District between Ambleside and Grasmere, offers breathtaking views, a hidden waterfall, and a secret house, all within an hour's drive from Lancashire. Here's a sneak peek at what this picturesque area has to offer for those planning a summer escape.
Time Out reports that Netflix filmed the second season of The Witcher inside this cave. According to their writers, it's "the perfect place to visit if you don't feel like a lengthy hike." Rydal Hall Rydal village is also home to the Grot, a tiny house hidden in the grounds of Rydal Hall. Set within 30 acres, a 16th century stately home overlooks manicured gardens and was a retreat once loved by William Wordsworth.
It is virtually-impossible to see in full unless you are inside the hut on the riverside or on the stone bridge located at the other end of the path, but the tiny house, which fits around ten people huddled inside on the fitted benches, is the closest you will get.
