Anthony Calica, 53, had been registered as a sex offender before and is also charged with taking ‘upskirt’ photos of women.
BERKELEY — A 53-year-old Richmond man has been charged with secretly taking pictures of children and “upskirt” photos of adults, including at the East Bay grocery store where he worked, court records show.
The case started last November, at the The Natural Grocery Company in Berkeley where Calica worked, when authorities say the mother of an 11-year-old girl notified police that Calica had been following her daughter around the store and appeared to be taking her picture. When confronted, he allegedly admitted to “sometimes” photographing customers without their consent, and had 40 such photos on his phone from the same day.
