Sep. 07, 2023, 5:04 p.m.BEREA, Ohio -- A Medina woman, 21, was mailed a citation Aug. 28 after she falsely identified herself to police.
The unusual request caught police off guard. They asked her why she wanted to use their phone. She said she needed a ride, adding that she had arrived in Berea with her boyfriend, who was working for DoorDash. The man was angry when he discovered that the woman was calling from a police officer’s cell phone. The woman called the man a racial slur, then asked police to hang up on him.
The woman, before leaving, asked police for water. Police said they didn’t have an unopened bottle to give her. She walked away.
