Kyle Walker attacked the injured party at his Newtownabbey home
A Belfast man who attacked his sister’s ex-partner in an assault motivated by revenge was handed a 40-month sentence today.
Belfast Crown Court heard the injured party had been in a relationship with Walker’s sister and that the family believed he had been physically abusive to her. Walker then dragged the injured party into the living room and told the female present to go upstairs. The assault then continued with Walker asking the injured party if he admitted abusing his sister. At one point Walker kicked the prone man in the leg and he also smashed his phone.
Police were called and arrived at the scene at 11.40pm and a topless Walker was arrested in the back garden. He was intoxicated and had bruising and swelling to his knuckles. This, he said, was after drinking seven to eight pints of beer, around 15 bottles of beer and several shots in a bar on the Shankill.
