Maureen Hutchinson has become a popular face at the city centre branch and will leave a huge void when she finishes her final shift on Sunday
Above the noise and chatter in the bustling city centre McDonald's, there's one voice which has been a warm and familiar feature enjoying the craic and keeping everyone in line.
"I am going to really miss it, I am going to miss my friends, my customers, you know me," she told Belfast Live. In another testament to how highly she is regarded, staff members who will not be on the same shift as Maureen when she finishes will be going out of their way to pop in and say goodbye. From her favourite Royal Belfast Academical Institution pupils and the family who come in every Sunday, to the homeless man who was so touched by her kindness - customer care assistant Maureen has certainly left her mark.
"On a Friday we have the ones from Inst come in and we have a laugh and the craic with them," she said. She hopes to adopt a rescue dog in the New Year her son John has already decided will be called Clifford.
