An illegal Chinese bio lab was operating secretly in California while dealing with infectious diseases. Naturally, the biggest concern legacy media has is “misinformation.”
That is how the Associated Press framed its coverage of the story, writing that the lab “fueled conspiracy theories” but “officials say it posed no danger.” The outlet defended Prestige Biotech, the company that was illegally operating the secret lab, saying that authorities “found no criminal activity” and that the story “fueled fears, rumors and conspiracy theories” about Chinese bioweapons.

Yes, Reedley officials performed several tests and confirmed that there were no airborne threats or water contamination while withholding information from the public, but that doesn’t mean there was never any danger from the lab. It was operating in secret, without any proper permits or registrations, including for medical waste. Around 20 infectious agents were found in the lab, including herpes, hepatitis, and HIV. There were 200 dead mice on-site.
