Police said it was a 'bad night for bed delivery companies' after another driver was on a motorway with only a provisional licence
A van driver has been arrested after they were found asleep and drunk by police in a motorway overtaking lane.
Officers from Lancashire Constabulary's road policing unit were called to the M6 last night and found the Renault driver had 'fallen asleep after stopping in Lane 3'. They were breathalysed at the scene and were found to be over the limit for alcohol. The force said it was a 'dad night for bed delivery companies' after a Mercedes Sprinter driver was found to be driving on a motorway with only a provisional licence. They have been summonsed to appear at court for motoring offences.In a post on X, formerly twitter, Lancs Road Police shared pictures of the two vans involved in the incidents. A spokesperson said: "Bad night for bed delivery companies.
"The Sprinter driver was summonsed for driving on motorway with a provisional licence amongst other offences."
