Bearsden locals are calling for East Dunbartonshire Council to make the roads safer after Una Brandreth lost her life after a lorry struck her whilst she was cycling on Manse Road.

Bearsden residents have gathered together to call on East Dunbartonshire Council to improve the safety of local roads following the tragic death of a cyclist.The 56-year-old mum was cycling on Manse Road at around 8.10am on Tuesday, March 19 when a lorry struck her.

Angela also stated that “mangled barriers” at nearby Bearsden Cross, the shopping heart of the town, were “another reminder of dangerous driving and poor traffic management”.The concerned resident said: “The first duty of a local council is community safety. Parents and residents have
