Toy Story 5 has stirred up a lot of controversy, but going against the film actually goes against the themes of the entire Toy Story franchise.
The announcement of Toy Story 5 has caused quite a stir online, but fans of the franchise should be grateful, as it means that they're not part of the worst ending. Although Toy Story is a fun family franchise, the animated saga has had some incredibly sad moments, with the films being equally full of childlike joy and heartbreak due to its themes about growing up.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Disney has officially announced Toy Story 5, with the franchise returning after its big revival with 2019's Toy Story 4. The announcement of the film has once again sparked conversation regarding the necessity of another Toy Story sequel, something that also occurred with the announcements of Toy Story 4 and even Toy Story 3.
Gatekeeping Toy Story 5 from happening goes directly against the theme that has been hammered in with every single Toy Story movie. If Toy Story was finished forever, new kids wouldn't be able to find the love and connection with the films that kids of the 1990s and 2010s cultivated. Even if viewers find Toy Story 5 repetitive, it's perfectly okay not to watch it. After all, when Andy was done with his toys in Toy Story 3 he didn't throw them away. Instead, he gave them to Bonnie.
Why Toy Story 5 Shouldn't Be Concerning Toy Story 5 may shake up the franchise, but the prospect of another Toy Story film really shouldn't be that concerning. The Toy Story movies have always been some of Pixar's best, with each Toy Story movie being praised and winning all kinds of awards. Although controversial upon its announcement, Toy Story 3 is often considered the series' best film, and while Toy Story 4 isn't beloved as the other movies, it's still really good.
On top of that, Toy Story 5 shouldn't be concerning due to the film's returning cast and crew. Toy Story legends like Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are returning, as well as much of the franchise's creative team. With these team members having been involved in Toy Story for multiple decades now, there's no way that they would let the quality fall for the fifth entry.
