Robert Otoniel Inosencio, 18, died during a shootout with Bexar County deputies on April 5. His family requested that deputies’ body camera footage of the incident not be released, and the Sheriff’s Office said it will honor that request.
The video shows deputies’ interaction with Robert Inosencio on the afternoon of April 5 in the 200 block of Demya Drive on the far West Side. After the ensuing shootout, Inosencio was found dead in a backyard shed, which had been converted to a bedroom, while deputy Miguel Gonzalez was sent to the hospital.
“At this time, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is respecting the family’s request,” officials said in a statement to the media.It is unclear from the Sheriff’s Office’s statement whether it intends to release the video eventually.
