Hillsdale softball player Claire Shelton has been named Bay Area News Group girls high school athlete of the week for March 21-27 after receiving 13,012 votes by the deadline at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Archbishop Mitty softball player Corri Hicks finished second and Wilcox softball player Lalia Lopez took third.Shelton, a sophomore shortstop, hit two doubles and had four RBIs as Hillsdale stunned 10th-ranked and previously unbeaten Capuchino 10-6.
