On July 4, the city will stage its annual Citizen Appreciation Day Celebration at Hometown Heroes Park, 1001 E League City Parkway, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Open to all residents, the event will feature family friendly activities including a petting zoo, face painting and live entertainment. The park’s pool also will be open.The Fourth of July celebration in Friendswood is the granddaddy of all the Bay Area Independence Day events.
The 127th edition of the celebration will take all day July 4. It starts at 10 a.m. with the grand parade, which has been known to draw thousands of spectators. The parade, which has a theme of “Freedom For One and All,” runs through the heart of town on Friendswood Drive, beginning at Heritage Drive and finishing atFun at the park that day will include rides, games, food and entertainment.
