Jason Todd's death almost ended Batman's career, but not for the reason you think. In today's Batman 125, Bruce Wayne reveals he came close to outing himself when Joker killed Robin, as he felt the world needed to know it had lost a hero.
In his time as a hero, Batman has experienced plenty of heartbreak, but the Dark Knight just revealed the darkest part of taking on a sidekick like Robin. In Batman #125 from DC Comics, Tim Drake is seriously injured, leading Batman to recount the death of Jason Todd and how he had to change him out of his costume before taking him to the hospital so he didn't reveal his secret identity to the public. He admits to nearly quitting as a hero after the incident.
