The Barbie star says he is 'honoured' to be nominated as best supporting actor 'for portraying a plastic doll' - but adds the film's star and director should have received Oscars nods in their respective Academy Awards categories.
Ryan Gosling has expressed his disappointment that Barbie director Greta Gerwig and star Margot Robbie were overlooked during the Oscars nominations in their respective categories. Gosling, who played the role of Ken in last summer's box office blockbuster said he was 'honoured' to be nominated for best supporting actor 'for portraying a plastic doll'.
' Ferrera also said she was 'incredibly disappointed' not to see Gerwig and Robbie nominated. 'Greta has done just about everything that a director could do to deserve it,' she told Variety. 'Creating this world, and taking something that didn't have inherent value to most people and making it a global phenomenon.' As for Robbie, she said: 'Perhaps people got fooled into thinking that the work seems easy, but Margot is a magician as an actress.
