The quarter that ended June 30 accounted for $942.3 million of that, a 27% spike over last year. It also marked the company’s second-highest quarter for pretax profit, after the second quarter of 2019 when the second-highest grossing movie of all time,64.
Many movies set to be released in late 2023 or next year are facing production delays. Even completed films are pushing back release dates because their stars are unable to promote them.
