The Bachelorette's Dotun discusses Charity's mom.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT During The Bachelorette season 20 finale, Charity Lawson's mom, Vicki, expressed some concerns about Dotun Olubeko when they met, and, now that Charity and Dotun are engaged, Dotun hopes that he's won Vickie over. Throughout the season, Charity and Dotun had a strong connection.

In an interview with EW, Dotun revealed that he hopes that he's won over Vickie, his future mother-in-law. He echoed Charity's comment that Vickie is "a very tough woman in a good way." Dotun added, "I do think at this point she sees pretty clearly how much Charity means to me and that I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make her happy." He seemed hopeful about the future saying, "So yeah, it's only upwards from here. We're making progress.

Bachelorette’s Charity Lawson Admits Mama Vickie Admires Dotun Charity discussed how, during the "After the Final Rose" episode, Vickie stated that she has gotten to know Dotun more since their initial meeting and that she's very happy for him and Charity. Charity revealed that The Bachelorette finale was the first time post-show that they were all able "to be together in person." However, she added that they've FaceTimed with their parents to check in.

Although Vickie seemed to have some reservations about Dotun, it was admirable of her to take a step back and force Charity to make her own decision between him and Joey. Too often, Bachelor Nation parents and other family members have interfered with relationships on the show, which led to problems. This even happened on The Bachelorette season 20, when Joey's uncle told Charity that he wasn't sure if Joey was being his true, authentic self with her.

If Vickie watches The Bachelorette season 20, she'll see just how genuine Dotun really was the entire time. While some of the other men were consumed by drama, or had past indiscretions that Charity couldn't get past, Dotun was completely focused on her and easy to get along with. They often gushed that their love was like a fairy tale, and they talked about how happy they were together.
