Wesley Brunson’s defense attorney pressed the forensic pathologist about alternative ways the 5-month-old Cumberland County boy could have died in.

Holden Brunson had a mobile neck, developed abdomen and strong legs at five months old.

That’s how Wayne Ross, the doctor who performed his autopsy, knew he could not have suffocated himself on his pillow, he said in Cumberland County Court Friday. Ross, a forensic pathologist and expert witness for hire, was among witnesses to testify Friday, the third day of testimony in the trial against Wesley Brunson, Holden’s father who was charged in connection with the baby’s death.
