Indi Gregory has died during the night after life support for the eight-month-old baby was removed by doctors, her father has said. She had been the subject of a legal battle between her parents and Nottingham University Hospitals .
The parents, Dean Gregory and Claire Staniforth, from Ilkeston, Derbyshire, said she died at 1.45am on Monday, November 13. "Indi's life ended at 01.45am. Claire and I are angry heartbroken and ashamed," Lee said in a statement, reports the Mirror. "Claire held her for her final breaths." Pope Francis previously released a statement from the Vatican on Indi's plight, saying: “Pope Francis embraces the family of little Indi Gregory, her father and mother, prays for them and for her, and turns his thoughts to all the children around the world in these same hours who are living in pain or risking their lives because of disease and war.
