The baby was rushed to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by air ambulance but sadly, he could not be saved and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Emergency services raced to Ullapool Harbour, Shore Street, in Ullapool around 1.20pm on Monday to reports of a person in the water.
An adult and a baby boy were rescued from the harbour. The baby was rushed to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by air ambulance but was pronounced dead a short time later.Enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident but there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.A Police Scotland spokesperson: "Around 1.20pm on Monday, October 16, 2023, we were called to a report of a person in the water at Ullapool Harbour, Shore Street in Ullapool.
"However, the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
