Departure of right tackle is substantial loss for San Diego State's offensive line, which was counting on his experience after last season's ups and downs
San Diego State starting right tackle Josh Simmons plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on social media Tuesday.
Simmons was among four returning starters on the offensive line for SDSU, which begins spring camp on Feb. 20.SDSU officials had no comment on Simmons’ announcement, and Simmons could not immediately be reached for comment. He could have entered the portal Dec. 5 — or even after SDSU’s Dec. 24 appearance in the Hawaii Bowl — and been able to enroll at a new school in time for the spring semester.
