San Diego State comes up short again against Boise State as Bradley, Pulliam can't convert in last 10 seconds
when the NCAA Tournament bracket is announced Sunday afternoon is that it won’t have to play Boise State in the opening round. Fellow conference members are separated in the 68-team field.Because the Aztecs just … can’t … beat … them.
Knowing these two teams, they probably could have saved everyone a lot of aggravation and just fast-forwarded to the final minutes, even the final seconds. The first two meetings went down to the wire as well, decided at Viejas Arena on a step-back 3 by Marcus Shaver and in Boise by two free throws by Abu Kigab with 1.7 seconds left.
The Aztecs took 10 more shots than the Broncos, had four more offensive rebounds and had three fewer turnovers. But they shot 35.1 percent and shot nine fewer free throws than the Broncos. The Boise State senior is arguably the Mountain West’s best perimeter defender and is perfectly suited to stop the guy who many teams can’t. He’s three inches taller, able to play a step off Bradley and force the lefty to his right while still having the length to deter his jump shot.
