Top team to open exciting new Leeds restaurant
A much-praised culinary team will be launching a new Indian restaurant in Leeds after enjoying success down south.
Award-winning duo Nand Kishor and Sanjay Gour are opening a new branch of Dastaan in Adel, north Leeds, following their popularity in London and Surrey. The two made their names in the position of head chef at the Michelin-starred Gymkhana restaurant in Mayfair. The Dastaan restaurant in Epsom features in the Michelin Guide, Harden’s, AA Guide and the Good Food Guide. It has also won numerous accolades."We were looking to open a new restaurant and Leeds is the obvious choice - the food scene here is really good. But we want to make it even better. We are bringing something new, an upmarket Indian dining experience," says Anurag Singh, who will be overseeing Dastaan in Leeds.
"We did that with the first restaurant in Surrey and essentially, we're doing that here again, in Leeds. The restaurant itself is at a great location and looks beautiful and we can’t wait to start serving up some fantastic new dishes.” The team said they were very careful in choosing where to open their next Dastaan. Anurag added: "We don't plan to open a chain of Dastaan restaurants all over the country. We don't believe in mass produced food.
