It'll be closed for weeks
For the rest of the month, the fountain will be drained and fenced off to the public as it undergoes a deep clean. The fountain that stands in the centre of Miller Park is now in the midst of being given a facelift.
told LancsLive the Victorian fountain will be opened in a few weeks time. Repairs on the fountain's structure are also being carried out too.The fountain is currently blocked off by metal fences that surround its perimeter. The waters have been drained leaving the pipework exposed and covered in green algae.
This hasn't been the first time the fountain has been closed off. In April 2022, the fountain was switched back on for the first time after being out of action since before the pandemic.Since then, its reputation as a local beauty spot has been returned. LancsLive understands that the fountain will be back up an flowing with water by Easter.
