While almost $1 million might seem like a lot for new televisions, that’s what officials say it costs for a place as big as RiverEdge Park in Aurora.
Aurora is looking at purchasing new large video screens for RiverEdge Park in the city.
The city received three bids for the screens, and Nighthawk Video was actually the middle bidder, about $10,000 more than the low bidder.But Jason Bauer, of the city’s Public Works Department, said Nighthawk met the city’s specifications better, and is also the only one of the three companies that is nearby.In addition, they are closer when replacement parts are needed.
Currently, RiverEdge uses two large video screens that were installed when the park first opened about 10 years ago. They have exceeded their life span, Bauer said.
