Following the shooting, it was unclear if Brian Battie would ever walk again as court documents filed against the alleged shooter, Darryl Brookins, stated that the Auburn running back could be looking at a prognosis of permanent paralysis. In a more recent update on July 26, Battie’s family wrote that Brian was determined to make a full recovery and eventually graduate from Auburn.
