A man was arrested Sunday afternoon after firing a gun into the air, threatening a person and fleeing in a stolen car, according to the Auburn Police Department.
At about 1:30 p.m. Sunday, victims reported a man driving a black Honda CRZ fired a semi-automatic pistol into the air in the 600 block of 7th Street Southeast.
A person reported the man threatened him by saying, “I see you. I know where you live. I am coming back for you.”Witnesses said the Honda CRZ had a red and yellow dealer placard and no license plates.At about 4 p.m., officers found the car on Southeast 312th Street, just east of 116th Avenue Southeast.A passenger fled on foot, but was quickly apprehended.Officers found a gun between the driver’s seat and center console, with a magazine on the passenger floorboard.
Once the passenger was identified as the suspect in the earlier shootings and threat, both the driver and passenger were arrested. Both of them had prior felony convictions. The passenger is expected to be charged with drive-by shooting, felony harassment, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen vehicle.
