An officer was injured during the collision with a black Audi A1 in Edinburgh on January 11 - just two days after a second cop narrowly avoided being knocked down by the same motor.
An attempted murder probe has been launched after a police motorcyclist was knocked off their bike by a runaway driver - two days after they almost hit another.
As they attempted to speak to the male behind the wheel in connection with an alleged driving offence, the vehicle sped off in the direction of Walter Scott Avenue. Police say one of their constables was forced to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. The vehicle, which has the registration number K3 OKXK, then fled the scene in the direction of Granton. The driver of the vehicle is described as being a white man, aged 18-22, with a slim build and short brown curly hair.
