A woman had her head beaten against a wall after she was assaulted on her doorstep - by attackers who stole her dog. Penny Sivewright, 50, was at home when a man and woman pushed into her flat.
She says visitors to another flat had been throwing parties and causing constant noise in the building. She claims that police officers have barely contacted her since the assault and her housing association has offered little to no support. “I was screaming at the top of my voice. As it turned out, people heard me out in the street, but I never found that out until later. They continued and once they were finished, once I was able to stand up and get my thoughts together for a second, I realised that Barney was gone.
Luckily the local community was sharing photos of Barney on Facebook, with neighbours and friends searching the streets. Barney was found alone in a park and returned to Penny – but now, Penny has been left to deal with the aftermath of the attack.
