Breaking news: At least seven people were killed Monday in related shootings at two locations in Half Moon Bay, Calif., authorities said. The San Mateo County sheriff said a 67-year-old man has been arrested.
Zhao is believed to be a worker at a mushroom farm where one of the shootings took place, according to Corpus. One victim is currently being treated for life-threatening injuries at Stanford Medical Center.
Police arrested Zhao as he sat in his vehicle in the parking lot of a substation of the Half Moon Bay Sheriff’s Office and later discovered a semiautomatic handgun in his car. Video broadcast by local news stations showed a Zhao — clad in a red, long-sleeve shirt, a dark-colored vest and a baseball cap — being pushed to the ground by police.“What a tragedy to see these innocent people lose their lives and right now, and we just don’t have the answers yet,” Corpus said.
