Trace Greer will be running in Dallas with his younger brother Judson cheering him on from the sidelines.
Trace and Judson have each run and won important races in the eight years since that memorable moment. But among the trophies and personal records, that day has continued to stand out. His post-college life was good. His business grew slowly, but he enjoyed what he was doing. He loved his wife. He had good friends and a good family. But something was missing.
“I don’t think I can use the word ‘saves’ me,” he said. “I didn’t need saving from anything. But it has definitely put me in a better mental place — not that I was in a horrible one to start with. But I love running.” When Trace initially moved on from his running career, he didn’t abandon the sport completely. That’s because Judson was a rising star, and Trace wanted to be there for him every step of the way.
