An ongoing strike at Disneyland Paris has led to unprecedented scenes for a Disney park.
are not uncommon against the Disney company, strikes and protests are almost unheard of within the theme parks. For weeks, however, Disneyland Paris workers, who are called cast members, have been protesting for better pay and benefits. With inflation rising in France, they are asking for €200 more per month and a more robust travel stipend for their commutes; Disneyland Paris is about a 40-minute train ride from the center of Paris.
Striking cast members have left their posts at rides and shows to march with signs during park hours. At one point, protesters lined the entrance into the Main Street, greeting guests as they came into the park. The Cast Member demonstration has moved to Town Square. Guests are still able to enter and access the Attractions.
