Residents say they are unsurprised after the emergency services swarmed an alleyway in Arnold which they say has for years been a "nightmare". One man has been hospitalised following an assault which took place down an unlit and overgrown pathway.

A second man also received minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.Chris Taylor, who has lived in Coppice Road for 12 years, says he's had police knock on his door five times while he has lived on the street. He told Nottinghamshire Live: "All I heard, it was Saturday, in the back garden was arguments and next thing the police and ambulance came flashing down.
"It is awful. They need lighting. It's disgusting and a regular occurrence. That alleyway is an absolute nightmare.And Dave Watts, who has lived next to the alleyway for 63 years, said it has been a problem for years. He added: "I was out picking cherries out the back from my cherry tree about 7.30pm. Half of Nottingham constabulary was here last night and ambulances.
Two police cars remain at the scene on Sunday morning. A cordon which stretched across Coppice Road has since been removed and now only remains across the alleyway.
