Turkey's incursion into Syria threatens to unleash a fresh wave of refugees
Mr. Erdogan said Tuesday that Turkish troops now controlled 1,000 square kilometers, or about 386 square miles, of territory in northeastern Syria and would continue to press the campaign toward securing an area about 10 times larger between the city of Manbij and the Iraqi border.
