Frida Maanum reveals Arsenal midfielder and fellow Norwegian Martin Odegaard plays little-known role with Arsenal Women’s team
Martin Odegaard might be starring for Arsenal this season, but there’s also another Norwegian who has been flying under the radar for the Gunners.The 24-year-old’s versatility means she’s become one of Jonas Eidevall’s most reliable performers and was rewarded with a new contract last summer, after hitting 16 goals in all competitions last season.And the midfielder says having a fellow Norwegian in Odegaard at the club has helped her feel at home.
“Coming from Norway and taking the role like he’s done this season and last season as well . The men’s team are doing great, even in the Champions League now. The North London side also beat Chelsea 4-1 at the Emirates earlier this season and Maanum believes the travelling Arsenal fans could have a huge impact on the game.“Obviously it’s special. We were there last year and won the Conti-Cup as well, which was an amazing game for us and winning against Chelsea is always nice,” she explained.
“I honestly think we have the best fans, which is nice to have and we’re really proud to have the fans there every game.”
