A man, 70, was arrested during Barrow AFC's match against Morecambe FC on Tuesday, police say.
A man has been arrested over an allegation of racist abuse against a football club's staff member during a match in Cumbria.
The man, 70, was arrested at the So Legal Stadium in Barrow during Tuesday's game between Barrow AFC and Morecambe FC, Cumbria Police said.Barrow AFC said it would conduct a "thorough investigation". The club said it would "take the strongest action possible" against anyone found guilty of racism, including the possibility of a lifetime ban.: "The club would like to make it absolutely clear that we abhor discrimination in all its forms.
"We would appeal to any fans who may have witnessed any discriminatory abuse to please come forward."The arrested man remained in custody, according to Cumbria Police.
