It is understood around 70 firefighters are now on scene at the blaze.
Around 100 residents have been evacuated and two firefighters have been injured after a fire broke out overnight at an Edinburgh flat.
They also confirmed the building has been evacuated and there were no reports of any injuries involving members of the public but one firefighter has sustained minor injuries. "We were just outside for hours in the car park and then they opened up the office block opposite so some people went in there.
"Our roads team has put a small closure in place on Breadalbane Street and we’ll continue to support all agencies and the local community and explore temporary accommodation should it be required.A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service received the call at 4.10am in the early hours of Thursday 14 March following reports of a fire within a flat.
