Owners of an award-winning fish and chip shop were ordered to remove their union jack flag by the council, after claims it was 'inappropriate for the area'. Chris Kanizi, 65, who owns Golden Chippy, was told to paint over it with a humanoid fish.

'It's a British flag. We are in Britain and it's celebrating Great British fish and chips. What's wrong with that? The council should concentrate and put their time and money into things that actually matter.
